Find out My Favorite Kids Shows on Amazon Prime, so you know what to watch!
We don’t do a lot of screen time for our kids. While they do have Kindles, they usually only use them about once a week. Sometimes even less than that. And TV time is even less. We moved our TV out of the main room and into the playroom, and it’s true what they say about out of sight, out of mind.
However, there are definitely times when I need to put on a movie or TV show to get something done. We also enjoy watching a movie as a family sometimes.
Since I’m sure I’m not the only one who can spend more time looking for a show to watch on Amazon Prime than actually watching the show, I thought it might help some other Mamas out if I put together some of my favorite kid’s shows on Amazon Prime.

My ultimate favorite kid’s show on Amazon Prime is Shawn the Sheep. If you’ve never seen it, it was made by the creators of Wallace and Gromit (which I loved as a young teen), and it’s hilarious. Shawn the Sheep is entertaining for adults as well as kids. There is no talking, which might sound like it would be boring, but it’s definitely not. If you’ve seen the movie, I didn’t love that as much as the shows. The movie was okay, but the shows are wonderful.
Another favorite kid’s show is Wild Kratts. My kids love learning about animals from Chris and Martin, in their silly adventures.
We recently started watching Popular Mechanics for Kids, and that has been a fun series. It delves into how things work, and we’ve all learned a lot. Just a few of the many things they teach about is the sewer, submarines, special effects, and roller coasters.
My littlest loves Daniel Tiger, which is basically a spin off from Mr. Roger’s. Daniel Tiger is a cartoon character who faces problems and learns from them.
Dora and Go Diego Go have both been popular with my kids. Dora is geared more towards the younger child, and focuses on repeating, learning numbers and letters, feelings and colors, and other preschool age skills. Diego is Dora’s older cousin, and the show is more about science and animals.
Finally, Fireman Sam is another show my kids love. It’s about a small town and the problems that arise, that sometimes require heroic action. I love that the town bands together to help one another. My kids love that there is a naughty boy on it that’s always doing something wild and getting into trouble. It’s actually a little bit cheesy and slow paced, and I didn’t think my kids would like it, but they surprised me by loving it!
I hope this list of my favorite kids shows on Amazon Prime is helpful to you! These are all shows that I enjoy watching with my kids, but that I know I can let them watch without me.
