Find out how easy it is to sign up for the Homeschool Book It Program from Pizza Hut!
Did you grow up getting Book It pizzas from Pizza Hut as a reward for meeting reading goals? I absolutely loved the Pizza Hut Book It Program, so I was thrilled when I found out that they offer a homeschool Book It Program!
I’m always happy to frequent businesses that support homeschooling or the same values I have. Pizza Hut has shown its generosity for decades through the Book It program, and I think that’s pretty impressive!
How does the Homeschool Book It Program work?
Every year there is an open enrollment period. Sometimes public schools have an enrollment period that’s before homeschools, but it can vary. Once you’ve enrolled, they will send you an email the following year to let you know that enrollment is open again, so make sure you enroll using an email address that you actually check!
The enrollment process is simple. Click here to sign up. You’ll enroll using your name and email address. Then you need to agree to the rules, which are:
- You will only sign up kids ages 5-12 as of September 1, 2019
- You will use Book It certificates to motivate reading
- You won’t sell the Book It certificates
Homeschool co-ops can’t sign up, every family has to sign up for themselves. Make sure you read the rules you agree to, since they can change at any time, and I’m not guaranteeing that my list of rules is accurate or complete.
After agreeing to the rules, you’ll input an address to receive the certificates at, as well as a name and age for each child you’re enrolling. This year they’ve added a new dashboard for the Book It Program, but I’m not sure what it will be used for exactly, right now, since it’s not fully accessible for another month.
I know it seems early to be thinking about enrolling your kids, but paper certificates for the program are available on a first come, first served basis, so you’ll need to enroll now in order to receive certificates for the 2019-2020 school year. You’ll be able to redeem the certificates beginning in October.
Please make sure that if you do enroll in the Homeschool Book It Program, that you do adhere to the rules, and treat the company with respect. It’s a very generous program that they have, and we don’t want to ruin it for anyone else, so don’t enroll your kids that are older or younger than the program requirements, or use multiple Book It certificates in a month.
And most of all, use the Homeschool Book It Program to make reading fun for your kids!
If you need some great read aloud ideas, we’ve got a fun list!
And find out why read alouds are great for older kids as well!
