Don’t you just love all the fresh fruits and veggies that are available during the summer?
My family especially loves berries: strawberries, raspberries, blueberries and blackberries. So when I was given the opportunity to share an ice cream recipe with you, I decided I wanted to make a fun, fruity, summery ice cream.
Margaritas just seem like a summer drink to me. Margaritas are cool and refreshing, especially when they’re frozen. So all these thoughts came together to create the idea for Blackberry Margarita Ice Cream.
Blackberry margarita ice cream doesn’t have a ton of alcohol in it, since that would cause the ice cream not to harden very well.
This blackberry margarita ice cream is smooth and creamy, with a sweet delicious berry flavor. If you’re not a fan of the seeds in blackberries, you can mash up the blackberries and use a strainer to get the majority of the seeds out.
You can also make this recipe with a different berry, if you prefer.
Blackberry Margarita Ice Cream is a creamy and delicious adult frozen treat!

- 2 Tbsp. lime juice
- 3 cups sugar
- 3 cups milk
- 3 cups heavy cream
If using frozen blackberries, thaw.
In a large bowl, stir together blackberries, sugar, tequila and lime juice.
Stir in milk and whipping cream.
Pour into ice cream maker, and follow directions according to the manufacturer of the ice cream maker. My ice cream took 20 minutes of churning time. For a firmer ice cream, you may want to put it in the freezer for 1-2 hours after churning.
